Drinking a Grimbergen in my room, gonna see the Bats real soon. Pretty strange to see a 1980s NZ band in Paris je t'aime. But I am not going to argue with that.
Been fixing my bike up real good and asking for parts in french.. "Je voudrais une câble de..frein..??" which is like asking for a brake cable. So its been raining for 3 days and is meant to for the rest of the week. I have a job interview tomorrow and showed up for one today only to stand outside waiting for 45 minutes before going home again. In the rain. Sucks. Bought some cheval, gonna make a horse-steak-burger for dinner tomorrow night..WATCH OUT

C'EST MOCHE!
So, I finally thought of a name for my bike. It came at a rather sudden moment when I was waiting in the line at the Pompidou Library yesterday and overheard a telephone conversation.
Please let me introduce Michel..

Michel, mon vel'
Veux-tu faire un trajet avec moi?
Dans les bois?
I think I'm pretty smart sometimes.

In other news, seeing Jarvis twice in one week wearing the same clothes is pretty dreamy. We gathered outside a gallery in Montmartre to witness him singing from a doorway. He has some excellent dance moves, that is for sure. And pulls an interesting crowd, including 8 year old kids smoking cigarettes and a bunch of dudes wearing glasses with no lenses. THAT'S MY KIND OF PEER GROUP. Sis and I gathered with another group of peers on the same Sunday evening at a concert aptly named MUSIC I USED TO LISTEN TO IN 2006. It wasn't really, but it did feature Xiu Xiu, Casiotone and Jeffrey Lewis. Man, all these dudes look like they walked straight from their bedrooms to the stage.. It was pretty ok, Jeffrey Lewis was quite entertaining with mini film things along the way.
Still searching for a job.

LES BOIS DE VINCENNES
Oh yeah so today I rode my trusty steed to Le Bois de Vincennes or in english The Woods of Vincennes... I think it used to be an old hunting ground for some rich dude once upon a time. I made a map showing where I went and interesting events that occurred along the way..
BIKE EXPEDITION #1

So I started at my house and rode a bit past the cemetery, down rue de Charonne where I encountered a market, yeah! Err I found my way to 1) Nation and spent a bit of time riding about the giant intersection before realising I was going back the way I live instead of onwards to the Park...Rode around some more, finally found the Porte de something to take me over the Periphique and VERS LES BOIS! 2) is where the zoo is. There was a pretty crazy man made mountain coming out of some enclosure, maybe for .. mountain lions? anyway, so 3) I rode around the woods, careful not to fall into any nettle-like plants that I had previously read about in Enid Blyton books. Europe woods are pretty great. It started to rain and I got bit by something on my neck. Itchy! I found 4) a velodrome? and a giant theme park thing were in the middle of the woods. Yeah it was pretty atmospherique until I crossed at the Porte de Charonne and found myself amongst some industrial chaos and smelly city smells. It was raining quite hard by this point and my glasses were beading. 5) is where I almost fell off my bike, skidding.. TIME: 1 hour 45 mins
In other news, I am seeing Jarvis Cocker again tonight. Everytime I think of saying his name I wanna say JOE COCKER and I get excited in a whole different way. Yeah and then eating a cheese platter or something.
