La Defense is like the St-Georges Terrace of Paris right? But way more epic.
It is this district at the end of the line 1 metro. IN ZONE THREE. I get the feeling that in the eighties this place would have totally bown everyone's minds because it is pretty impressive today and its like the noughties. There are a heap of eclectic skyscraper buildings topped of with the Grande Arche in the midst of chaos, rising out of the metropolis of a throne of marble. Paris was totally designed by some cool dude because when you stand at the top of the step of the Grande Arche and look towards Paris, directly in front of you, some distance off, is the Arc de Triomphe, and then if you had superhero eyesight you would be able to see down Champs Elysees to the obelisk at Concorde, through the Jardins des Tuilleries and to the Louvre pyramid. WELL DONE AWESOME GUY. TALK ABOUT AXI. Yeah ok. And if you turn around and look the other way, to the suburbs of Paris and the hills in the distance you can go for a walk on this wooden jetty that is raised above the ground level and looks down upon firstly a park and then below that an old cemetery, like a layer cake. Oh and its still all in the midst of skyscrapers.. Pretty hard to explain.. But it was so cool! PAREEEESSSE

So I saw some other great town planning elements at La Defense. There were some dudes playing bocce in a slight open space between cafes, I saw a kitten perched in some grass next to a skylight for who knows what and some armed military police KEEPING THE PEACE amongst the crowds.
AHH OUI MERCI MADAME and this was my favourite moment of the day:
